Official Addition and Judicial Recounts

Official addition will begin tomorrow, Thursday June 1^st, at 10:00 am in all returning offices.

The deadline for application to a judge for a recount is four days after the official count, Monday June 5^th, 2017.

Out of District Ballots Count About Half-Way

Elections Nova Scotia has had inquiries about the count of out of district ballots. All ballots will be counted and included in tonight’s results. There appears to be interest due to the record early vote turnout of 112,900 votes by 6pm last Saturday, and that number included about 22,000 out of district and write-in ballots.
 

As of 10:20pm, all write-in ballots have been counted and reported in electoral district numbers. ENS has about 25 teams counting these out of district ballots.

UPDATE: As a result of the delays reported earlier, election results reporting for Truro-Bible Hill electoral district will commence at 8:30pm, and for Halifax-Chebucto electoral district will commence at 8:15pm.

Am I entitled to three hours off work to vote?

Yes, by law you are entitled to have three consecutive hours available to vote while polls are open on election day. That is within reason, as the time you take must respect your employer’s needs.
