Elections Nova Scotia – Official addition results for the Pictou West by-election are now on the Elections Nova Scotia website (electionsnovascotia.ca).

Marco MacLeod, Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia (PC) has been confirmed as the winner for the Pictou West by-election

The final vote count for each candidate is as follows:

Clare Brett, Green Party of Nova Scotia (Green Party) - 82

Melinda MacKenzie, Nova Scotia New Democratic Party (NSNDP) - 949

Marco MacLeod, Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia (PC) – 4,159

Mary Wooldridge-Elliott, Nova Scotia Liberal Party (Liberal) - 548

The total number of ballots cast was 5,781. There were 43 rejected ballots.

A candidate is officially declared elected when the writ of election has been completed and returned by the returning officer to the Chief Electoral Officer per section 159 of the Elections Act.

Poll-by-poll results and further analysis on voter turnout for the Pictou West by-election will be published in Elections Nova Scotia’s post-election report in the coming months.

The deadline for application to a judge for a recount for the Pictou West by-election is four days after the official addition, Monday, May 27, 2024.

Elections Nova Scotia is a non-partisan and independent agency responsible for conducting provincial elections.
